The Stark County Hunger Task Force is proud to announce the launch of our 2016 Hunger at Home Campaign with a day of service!

We’re kicking off this year’s campaign on April 1st (TODAY) with our Spring to Action Service Day, connecting members of our food pantry network across the county with several local businesses and groups. It might be April Fools Day, but this service day is no joke!

Spring To Action is our second annual service day — last year, you might remember our Day of Change. Why host a day of service, you ask? Because it’s what the campaign is about, and a perfect way for it to launch: the purpose of our annual campaign is to raise funds and awareness to fight hunger in Stark County. To find out more about the campaign and how you can further support as an individual or organization, please visit starkhunger.org/campaign, or contact Amy Weisbrod at amy@starkhunger.org.

Participants from Ally Financial, Aultcare, United Healthcare, Massouh Printing, OMNI Orthopaedics, Aultman College, and Walsh University will lend a helping hand with a variety of pantry improvement projects at 9 locations. The time these businesses will donate and the assistance they’ll provide on improvement projects is simply invaluable. Some of the projects are big, others are small, but all of them are critical to our mission.

We are looking forward to this event, and so are our pantries — Mt. Zion Community Church, Faith Kitchen, Grace United Church of Christ, the Canton Salvation Army, Grace Fellowship Canton, Life Hope Community Church, Life Song Church, Zion Lutheran Church, and our very own SCHTF Emergency Food Pantry.

Best of all, Spring to Action is only the beginning!

The 2016 Hunger at Home Campaign will run from April 1st through June 30th, so please stay tuned to our website and blog for more information specifically about this year’s events.
