In recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness month, every November, The Stark County Hunger Task Force observes “Hunger Awareness Month”. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Hunger Awareness Month is a time set aside to focus on gratitude, generosity, and education.

You can observe Hunger Awareness Month, too! Here’s how…

Organize a food drive! We are looking for individuals, organizations, and businesses to organize food drives. We serve over 31,000 food insecure Stark County residents a month through our pantry network, as well as over 700 local children through our Backpack for Kids Program. Or your business or organization could host a Food for Thought Food Drive. This is a drive designed to support the over 700 children we support through our Backpack for Kids program each week. Contact Stephanie at stephanie@starkhunger.org or at 330-455-6667 to start organizing today!

Volunteer! We provide many volunteer opportunities here at Stark County Hunger Task Force! To volunteer in our pantry, contact Steve at steve@starkhunger.org. To volunteer for our Backpack For Kid Program, our Massillon Direct Distribution, or our Senior Box program contact Stephanie at stephanie@starkhunger.org. To volunteer to be a Palace or Civic Center Usher, contact Marie at msumser@yahoo.com. Come join our team of Hunger Fighters!

Wear ORANGE! November 14th is Wear Orange Day! Rock our Hunger Fighting color and be sure to post on social media with the hashtags #wearorange #hungerawareness and #hungerfighter.

Post on social media! Check out Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram throughout the month and share our posts on your wall. Encourage your friends to share our post as well!

Anyone can be a Hunger Fighter!
