Step up to the pitcher’s mound with us as we team up to Strike Out Hunger.

Goal: Collect 1,000 pounds of food for the hungry in Stark County!

strikeouthunger LOGO

We’re celebrating the return of America’s favorite pastime and the Indians Home Opener, but we also know that unlike baseball or softball, hunger takes no off-season. 1 in 6 Stark County residents struggles to put food on the table, and 1 in every 4 children live in a food-insecure household. Over 57,000 individuals in this community are hungry, and the SCHTF invites YOU to take action.

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE:

  • Organize a food collection
  • Provide 7 pounds of food for every $1 donated
  • Volunteer to become a drop-site

IDEAS FOR YOUR FOOD DRIVE:

  1. Involve your office, neighborhood, church,  or other community group
  2. Choose a date or series to dates during which food will be collected
  3. Arrange a friendly competition between teams, schools, leagues, or department
  4. Spread the word — be creative with our promotional materials and share over social media [see below!]
  5. Bring your food donations to one of our community drop-sites between the 10th and 17th
